Things You Need Before Filling Out the 2022–23 FAFSA Form (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

If you need financial aid to pay for college, complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA®) form. The 2022–23 FAFSA form is now available. Fill it out as soon as possible on or after Oct. 1 at the official government site, fafsa.gov.

Your FSA ID
Your Social Security Number
Your Driver’s License Number, if you have one.
Year 2020 Federal Income Tax Return
Records of Your (and Your Parents) Untaxed Income, if any
Records of Your (and Your Parents) Assets (Money)
List of the School(s) You Are Interested in Attending
